Post 6 : English Language Challenges

Hi guys! we are at the end of the year! 2020 is finally over! Having this English semester has helped me realize that learning another language opens many doors for me and that's why I made the decision to get certified :) so I can have more opportunities later on to learn another language.

The activities we did in the course seemed fun, I had never done a blog before and I find it very interesting and cool:))). I also liked the group activities very much, like the one where we had earned a lot of money and we had to decide what to do with that money, I had a great time doing it!

I still need a lot to learn, to be more confident in speaking, to practice more and not to be afraid of mispronouncing. Being an anxious person makes me tongue-tied and nervous to speak and that is something I need to work on and improve.

I hope that later on I will be able to travel again and practice my English much better and who knows someday maybe I can live in a place where they speak this language :)

Post 5 : Videogames

 I've never been very interested in video games, I've only played a couple of times FIFA with friends, when I was little we had a Wii that whenever we came back from school we played with my sister, it was the afternoon scene, we played tennis, golf, archery, we ran, drove cars and even did yoga! It was so much fun to play! I remember one Christmas when my parents gave us the game "Just Dance" and we couldn't stop playing because it was so much fun to watch my parents dance! 

Now I don't have time to play anything because of the university but my sister because of the pandemic started to play online games every day with her friends, she is very good at playing "Fornite", she bought a new keyboard and headphones, and she has a great time:) I still don't have the practice or the patience to play those games and I get stressed very fast because I always lose:(  

In my opinion video games are very entertaining, you can play with your friends and clear your mind a bit, but at the same time they can be very harmful to your physical and mental health, so be careful

Post 4 : Permaculture

Watching the permaculture video and observing the changes and benefits it brings to a system is incredible, permaculture is the balance between species, ecological principles, ethics, sustainability, care of the soil and being able to sustain life in the present and in the future.

Permaculture is a very good system to have diverse crops that are in harmony with the environment and to be able to produce your own food and what you need without wasting resources, food and money.

In Chile there are several organizations that are trying to promote this system, it would be incredible if this type of crops would expand and that people could produce their own food and at the same time share their crops with their neighbors and in this way form more united communities. The problem in Chile is that there is a lot of inequality and there are a lot of people who do not have the spaces to promote this system and in my opinion each municipality should give up some places to have this system or community gardens, this would benefit each community and would make people eat better, creating an environment of balance with nature and fellowship between neighbors.  

Post 3 : Covid 19

Luckily all my family has been in very good health and none of them have gotten sick but we have all been very worried about what is happening in Chile and in the world, I never thought I would live a world pandemic in my life. 

These months of quarantine and not being able to see my friends have been very difficult, I miss them a lot because they are like brothers and sisters to me and I miss them a lot and it makes me very sad not to be able to hug them.

Looking on the bright side of the pandemic I could say that thanks to being in my house I have been able to take many classes on different topics on digital platforms and that has been great because I don't have to move from my house or travel to other countries to take them. 

The pandemic has made stress feel much stronger and I am much more tired, mental health has to take much more strength because it is very important and much more in these difficult times for everyone.

Post 2 : The best holidays / concert I've ever had / been to

Wow how hard it is to choose the best holidays! But if I have to choose one, I choose the time my family and I went to Peru in 2014, that trip was wonderful and full of good energy. 

We arrived in Cusco and stayed there about three days and then we started the trip to Machu Pichu. 

We traveled by train to get to the city of Aguas Calientes and then we went up to Machu Pichu - we went up twice-  the first time was at noon and it was beautiful, we had a guide who told us all the history of the place and we took pictures with the llamas that appeared to us, the second time we went up was at 5 a.m. so we could see the sunrise from that magical place with the mountains surrounding us.

The trip lasted 2 weeks and was full of energy. In all the trips we had an incredible time with my family but this trip marked us all.

Post 1 : A country I'd like to visit

In my life I have traveled to many places in the world and for that I am very grateful to my parents, I have traveled to Argentina, Perú, Bolivia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Canada, England, France, Italy and a lot of places in Spain because I was born in Madrid so with my family goes there every 2 years if we can so I know very well some cities in Spain. I love every country I have ever traveled because all the countries are different and the people in every country are friendly. 

However, there are still many countries I'd love to visit, like Greece. My interest of this country is because of the famous movie "Mamma mia", because in the movie you can see the beautiful buildings and the amazing beaches, I would like to go there with my friends on summer vacation some day, go out to party, meet people and visit the ancient greek ruins, The Athenian Acropolis where democracy, math and science was born.
